Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using ProofLock, you agree to these Terms of Service. ProofLock provides professional cryptographic services for digital asset certification, encryption, and decentralized identity management.

2. Digital Asset Certification

ProofLock provides "Digital Certainty" via three professional pillars:

This creates a Certificate of Authenticity proving the state of a digital asset at a specific point in time.

3. Permanent Ledger Records

You acknowledge that the Polygon blockchain is a permanent record. Once a cryptographic hash is anchored, it cannot be modified or deleted. ProofLock has no authority or ability to alter blockchain records.

4. User Responsibility (The Verification Bridge)

A successful verification requires two components under your exclusive control:

If either is lost or modified, the cryptographic link for verification cannot be restored.

5. Non-Custodial Access Protocol

CRITICAL: ProofLock utilizes non-custodial security. We do not store your keys or password hashes. We cannot:

Users are solely responsible for securing their device access and backing up their encrypted data.

6. Integrity Maintenance

If the original file is modified or access to the certifying identity is lost, the link to the blockchain record is broken. ProofLock cannot restore this connection.

7. Professional Asset Backup

To ensure long-term verification, we recommend backing up the encrypted version of your assets. Modifications to file metadata by third-party operating systems can alter a file's hash; maintaining the encrypted sandbox version preserves cryptographic integrity.

8. Secure Delivery Expiration

The ProofLock delivery system allows for secure, time-limited file access.

9. Limitation of Liability

A Certificate of Authenticity is a mathematical proof of a digital state. It is not a guarantee of physical truth, the accuracy of the content, or legal standing. ProofLock proves a file existed in an exact state at an exact time; it does not verify the underlying claims within the file.

10. Service Availability

Services are provided "as is." ProofLock is not liable for blockchain network congestion, device-level hardware failure, or third-party service interruptions that may affect the transmission or verification of assets.
